Victorville is a city of San Bernardino County. Found in the Victor Valley, it has a population estimated at 120,336 as of 2012. “Key City of the High Desert” is its local motto. Named after Jacob Nash Victor, general manager of the California Southern Railroad, Victorville later changed its name to what it is today, trying to avoid confusion for the postal service because of the Colorado town with the same name.
Victorville was incorporated officially by 1962 and is found along the south-west border of the Mojave Desert. It is a favorite stop for travelers making their way north east up into Arizona by the southern Nevada border.
