Found 5 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, Vernon is home to just 112 residents as of the 2010 census. It's the smallest city of any incorporated city in the state of California. Vernon is home to mostly industry, with many warehouses and meatpacking plants throughout. There are still no parks in the area. Those Vernon was nearly unincorporated by the prop AB46, it was able to maintain its cityhood and swept the entire political house. The city agreed to set aside $60 million in order to fund parks in the surrounding areas and went through a list of various other political reforms. In August, the state senate voted against disbanding Vernon.
