Found in San Bernardino County, Upland lies at an elevation of 1,242 feet. Upland is home to over 73,730 residents and was formerly called North Ontario. The city was incorporated in May of 1906. Upland is a rural town found at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and is popular for its scenic beauty and hiking trails. The area is known for its agriculture and irrigation techniques, bringing water from several different areas into the local aquifer to provide its residents with a constant supply year round. Its agriculture industry is based around its grape and citrus production, exporting products throughout the area. The city of Upland is much the same today and is still home to a section of the Southern Pacific railroad, running through the center of the city.
