Found in the northern part of the San Jacinto Valley and named after Saint Hyacinth, the city of San Jacinto is a popular location in the Inland Empire. The city was founded in 1870 and incorporated in 1888, on April 20th, making it one of the oldest cities in Riverside County. In addition to being a center for agriculture and dairy farming, San Jacinto is the location of Mt. San Jacinto College and the Soboba Casino.
The city's agriculture industry was formerly the major source of business as well as tourism to its hot springs. Residents from the city helped to start The Ramona Pageant in its neighboring city of Hemet, and have taken part in it since its beginning in 1923. San Jacinto is a more rural part of the Riverside County area and is a favored residence for many looking to avoid real city life
