Found in the center of northern Los Angeles County, Palmdale was the first incorporated city of the Antelope Valley. It was incorporated on August 24th, 1962. Divided from Los Angeles by the San Gabriel Mountains, Palmdale is home to a population of over 152,700 according to the 2010 census, increasing from 116,670 in 2000. It is the 33rd most populated city in California, ranking 158th nationally. Including its neighbor Lancaster, The two cities have a combined population of 513,547 residents.
