Referred to by locals as the “Center of it All,” National City is home to over 58,580 citizens and is the second largest city found in San Diego County. Formerly inhabited by the Kumeyaay people, National City is now a gateway to the arts, a center for housing, historic buildings, and museums. The city is host to the National City Automobile Heritage Day Car Show. Starting in 1991 this event has continually drawn visitors from all over California and the rest of the country.
National City is also known for its 4th of July festival held at Kimball Park. The event has contests, mini carnival rides, food, and live music, making it a favorite destination for locals every year.
