The city's most famous detail is its Lemon Monument, a statue commemorating its famous citrus industry, the factor that brought the town into economic prosperity. The city is known for whats referred to as the Lemon Grove Incident, the first boycott of segregated public schools by Mexican-Americans.
Known to have been home to such names as Dennis Hopper and John Forester, Lemon Grove is a diverse and unique city. Its lemon monument has been engraved with the motto: “Best Climate on Earth”.
