A charter city of northern Los Angeles County, found in the Antelope Valley of the Mojave Desert region. It is known as the 30th largest city in the state of California, 148th nationwide. Along with its neighbor Palmdale, Lancaster is part of a twin-city area, together they make up the principal cities of the Antelope Valley. Near the Kern County line, Lancaster is about 70 miles from downtown L.A. It's bordered partly by the San Gabriel mountains and several other beautiful scenic areas like the Tehachapi Mountains. It is home to over 157,820 people as of the 2010 census and continues to grow today.
