Home to over 90,100 people, Hesparia is a rural town known for its camping and offroad sports locations. The town is also the location of a section of the California Aqueduct which pumps water from Banks Pumping Plant.
Hesparia has a cold desert climate, experiencing more extreme temperatures due to its distance from the sea. Its school district is the area's largest employer, providing more than 1,900 jobs. The town also has its own lake. The lake itself was man-made and lies at the southeastern part of the city.
