Known as California's next fastest expanding city, Beaumont is home to a population of 36,877 residents. The city is part of the Riverside County area and is found at an elevation of over 2,600 feet. Its name comes from a French combination of words “beautiful” and “mountain”.
Beaumont is located just south of the Morongo Indian reservation and Cherry Valley and was incorporated in 1912 on November 18th. Agriculture was its main claim to fame in its early years and was known specifically for its apple farms. Beaumont landed the title of “Land of the Big Red Apple” in the early 1990s according to locals. It later became a very popular resort town and currently plans to grow with the construction of over 25,000 new residences.
